A number of hides and scenic picnic sites enable visitors to enjoy 'out-of-car' experiences as well.
Bird watching is excellent with over 300 species recorded. There are migrant as well as permanent inhabitants. Some species eat carrion or live prey while others feed on seeds, fruit or tiny water organisms.
